Update: June 13 2010. As of right now, Chuck Season 4 is set to premiere sometime in September 2010. No date has been set as of right now. We should expect NBC to release the Fall 2010 TV Show schedule in the next few week. Check back for updates on when will Chuck Season 4 premiere on TV in September here.

Update! Chuck Season 3 coming back on March 1st, 2010 after the Olympics are over! Chuck Season 3 took a 3 week break/haitus for the Olympic Games and will come back on March 1 for Episode 8 called Chuck vs. The Fake Name.

UPDATES ON CASEY LEAVING CHUCK

Season 3 of Chuck might get to premiere sooner than the March date that NBC had been talking about.

3rd Season of Chuck Premieres Tonight!

It's finally here! January 10th, 2010 has arrived!

The first episode of Chuck Season 3 will air at 8pm, followed by episode 2 at 9pm. Remember to tune in! Or DVR it so the ratings are high and we get a Chuck Season 4 in September 2010!

If you want to watch Chuck season 3 online, let me know in the comments. If there are any requests, I will spot live streaming links, although download links (in HDTV - high definition quality) are also available.

It’s good news (for me), bad news (for NBC): Since its numbers are down and its new and returning shows are mainly DOA (Southland was axed before new episodes even aired!), Chuck’s third season might get to premiere sooner than the March date that’s been bandied about thus far.

“How much sooner” you ask?

As early as late October, my moles tell me. And while it remains unclear whether the little show that could (and has and shall again) would return to its Monday timeslot or find itself a new perch, NBC insiders who’ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet.

But wait, there’s more. If Chuck does come back sooner rather than later, the chances of NBC ordering additional episodes beyond the 13 it initially commissioned increases dramatically. And they increase further if it performs solidly… which for NBC, at this point, means my cat, Mister Scooch, sits down to watch with me. (Seriously, anything above a 2 rating in the 18-49 demo should do the trick.)

Are we happy, people? Dumb question. Allow me to rephrase: How happy are we? Weigh in below!

Thoughts? I’ll admit, I’m stroked about the chance of Chuck returning early to save NBC, I mean on a totally unrelated note, NBC has been doing terribly in terms of ratings this season. If Chuck were to return later this month and the ratings were good, the network could order a full season instead of the measly 13 episode season we have right now. As a huge, HUGE fan of Chuck [and Ellie], I am overjoyed by these reports. Of course, if and when the network makes a decision, I’ll be the first to know and will consequently let you know, right on this page, with an update or two.

Additionally, there is no word on what day or time Chuck might return to. As long as it is not a Friday, I am happy. Fridays = death (Prison Break finale anyone?).

Update #1: Fate of "Chuck" in Trauma's hands

Fans of NBC's "Chuck" anxious to know when the show will be returning to the network's lineup ought to pay close attention to the ratings for Monday night's episode of "Trauma.

The key to "Chuck's" fate, it turns out, could be NBC newcomer "Trauma."

"Trauma" has been on cancellation watch since last Tuesday, leaving open the very real possibility that NBC will soon need replacement programming on Mondays.

But this happens only if "Trauma" needs to be replaced. NBC executives are hoping viewership for tonight's episode stabilizes, or maybe even goes up. If that happens, NBC can afford to be a bit more patient on Mondays.

If "Trauma" goes down, however, it's very likely "Chuck" will be back before year's end. And if "Trauma" really tanks, Ausiello's October surprise scenario could well transpire.

More likely is an early to mid-November premiere. And a post-Olympics bow, as originally planned, is still under discussion as well.

Full article here.

Update #2: Trauma: Code Blue

Get your fill of lovely San Francisco outdoor shots in Trauma while they last. My guess is they won't be around much longer. Certainly not next season.

TvByTheNumbers Renew/Cancel Ratings

According to this article, Trauma will most definitely be canceled by next season, and possibly this season. If its the latter, then Chuck will replace Trauma, possibly in the November time frame. Good idea? Unless NBC can pull off massive promotional campaigns for this early premiere, I'm afraid this can be a total disaster for Chuck ratings.

I say its time for Chuck fans to start another campaign.. The "Promote Chuck" campaign. What do you say? Leave your thoughts in the blurbs section below!

Update #3: Chuck Coming Back On Thursdays 8/7 CONFIRMED As NBC Error

If you had gone to the official website of Chuck this morning, you would have seen news of your life. Chuck was supposedly returning next week on Thursday at 8/7 Central! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it!

Unfortunately, the update got removed a couple of hours later and NBC issued a statement calling it an error on their website's behalf. Sad, sad day for Chuck fans.

However, there is still a possibility of Chuck returning to TV next month (November 2009) so keep checking back for more updates.

Update #4: Chuck Season 3 Early Premiere could be January or February 2010

Question: Any update on when Chuck is coming back? -Gary

Ausiello: The latest buzz points to a January or February return.

-Ask Ausiello

This could come as a blow to some fans who were rooting for new episodes of Chuck Season 3 early November, but its not the worst news! Remember we were originally supposed to wait all the way up to March for new Chuck episodes, but now it looks like we will have Chuck back doing kung-fu and more, a month or two before that!

Nothing is official yet, so keep checking back for updates!

Update #5: NBC picks up 'Community,' 'Mercy' & 'Parks' for full seasons!

All 3 shows have showed some stability in the past few weeks and they were picked up by NBC for full seasons.

- James Hibberd

As you might have noticed, absent from the pick-up list is "Trauma", the show Chuck is said to replace if it gets canceled. Reports are suggesting it IS likely to get canceled before mid-season thanks to a high budget and consistently dropping ratings ("Trauma" ratings dropped from 0.81 to 0.68 in the last 3 weeks).

Update #6: NBC orders 3 more episodes of 'Trauma'

This just in. After last night's ratings gain for "Trauma", NBC has officially booked the Monday night medical drama to continue airing for the next three weeks.

THRFeed

This pushes the Chuck sea-saw to the January/February 2010 release a wee bit more.

Update #7: NBC Close To Ordering 6 More New Episodes of Chuck

The network will likely order as many as six additional episodes of the comedic spy adventure, two industry insiders familiar with the situation told TheWrap. The extra episodes would be on top of the 13 hours already ordered for season three.

The Wrap

What does this mean for Chuck returning to TV sooner? It is definitely looking positive! This extra episodes move could be a sign that NBC wants to bring "Chuck" back on air in January, splitting the third season into pre- and post-Olympics pods.

Update #8: NEW Yvonne Strahovski Interview About Chuck Season 3

Update #9: Yvonne Strahovski Promoting New Movie "The Canyon" on Carson Daily and Talks Third Season of Chuck.

Update #10: Sarah Lancaster spills on Season 3 of Chuck

Update #11: 'Chuck' On the Set: Zachary Levi Directing, Kristin Kreuk Visiting

Good news comes in two for "Chuck" superfans. After NBC has confirmed that it is adding six more episodes to the order, Zachary Levi who plays the titular character posted an on-set picture that reveals him as a director.

"Chuck" is scheduled to premiere the third season in March 2010 after the Winter Olympics. However, with the additional episodes order comes a speculation that NBC will shift it to January.

Update #12: Adam Baldwin Leaving Chuck?!

I was shocked to read that Casey might be leaving Chuck, and I am afraid I will be quite upset if it is the case. Michael Ausiello recently revealed that Casey does something in episode 10 of season 3 that "could-cost-him-his-job". He then adds that this is connected to his earlier post where he revealed Robert Patrick from T-1000 will be joining the show mid-season. Does that mean Casey gets the boot and Robert becomes the new NSA guy protecting Chuck instead of Casey?

Nooo, CASEY FOR THE WIN!

========

Question: Please tell me you have some Chuck scoop. -Jake
Ausiello: I have some Chuck scoop. In episode 10, Casey does something bad. REALLY bad. Could-cost-him-his-job bad. And it's connected to this..

Update #13: Chuck Season 3 Premiere Date Confirmed

Ladies and gentleman, we have a season 3 premiere date!

NBC has announced that Chuck will return on Sunday, Jan. 10 with two back-to-back episodes before moving into its regular Monday-8 pm time-slot on Jan. 11.

Or to put it in Fox terms, it's a two-night, three-hour, premiere extravaganza!

Chuck's confirmed list of season 3 series regulars, per NBC's press release, are Zachary Levi (Chuck), Adam Baldwin (Casey), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah), Joshua Gomez (Morgan), Sarah Lancaster (Ellie), Ryan McPartlin (Captain Awesome), Mark Christopher Lawrence (Big Mike), Vik Sahay (Lester), and Scott Krinsky (Jeff). So long, Anna Wu.

New Chuck Season 3 Preview Video

Share your thoughts on when Chuck should return...

As much as I want Chuck, Sarah and Ellie back in my life already, I fear that an early return of Chuck could hasten the show's demise. Admittedly, I was worried about the March 2010 premiere when it was announced last May. However passionate the fans had been at the end of season two, would they all be coming back 9 months later? What about the more casual viewers? Would they even remember that the show existed, or care, after that long a hiatus?

But after waiting that long, NBC gets to promote the show for two weeks during the Olympics. which is a much better promotional platform than anything NBC has on right now.

If Chuck were to come back by late October, as Ausiello suggested, or even early November, then there just won't be enough time to mount a successful promotional campaign. You'll be throwing the show back on the air with little viewer awareness, and, according to Joe Adalian, in the same Monday at 8 time slot where the show struggled so much last season opposite "House" and the CBS comedies. I know the current plan is for it to air Mondays at 8 in the spring, but so many things could change for both NBC and the competition by March that I'm less worried about that than the certainty that "House" and "Dancing with the Stars" would kick Bartowski butt. NBC's just not equipped to make anything into a hit right this moment, least of all a show that, with its current audience size, needs to be handled very delicately.

Personally, I'm looking on this third season as a gift from and for the passion of the fans. A miracle could happen, and the ratings could suddenly become big enough that a fourth season becomes a no-brainer, but right now all I want is for the show to do well enough for all of the third season episodes (13 or 22) to air. And while neither option seems particularly appealing, my gut right now tells me that March is the safer play, even if it means waiting, and waiting, and then waiting some more to see Chuck show off some kung fu moves, to hear Casey grunt, etc.

In case you missed this:

NBC insiders who’ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet.

-Michael Ausiello

So, are you a fan of Chuck? Do you this it is a good idea to move up the premiere of Season 3?Or would you rather wait for next February? (heh)

I am a HUGE Chuck fan, but I am worried what will happen if thry put Chuck on the wrong night. People are affraid of Friday, as well they should be, but everyone should also be concerned that it will come back on Monday, the absolute worst possible day to bring it back. There is just WAY too much competition for Chuck on Monday, especially if they bring it back early with little or no promotion. It was a testament to Chuck that it did as well as it did on Monday before, but putting it on Monday at this point could be suicide to the show we all know and love to much. So to sum up, should Chuck come back early?...ABSOLUTELY, yesterday is not soon enough as far as I am concerned. Should it come back on Monday night?... ABSOLUTELY NOT! That would only be the death of the greatest show the world has ever seen and that is something I could not stand.

i agree with u rob. friday and monday is worst days to being back chuck!! i want chuck on wednesday or thursday!

Ricky 2 years ago

Rob I totally see what you mean. Monday worked before for Chuck but the regulars (House, Dancing With The Stars, Heroes, etc..) take away a lot of viewers.

If Chuck comes back on a Tuesday at 8 or 9, there could be a lot more viewers. Even a Wednesday would work, but Thursday already has a few comedies so its not the best idea. Friday might as well be spelled as D.E.A.T.H.

I am going to download it, only because im obsessed- but I swear on all thats holy I will watch each episode on the day of its coming out on television, to help along the ratings. I hope that everyone else does too. CHUCK FTW!
